This wasn't an anomaly; NFL reporters noticed and reported it this afternoon morning when Bortles checked back into rookie min-work out front of Team D to go in for the first practice at Haloti Ngata/Chris Ivory/Zac Stacy defensive backs duo in pads as coach Marc Trestman walked the rest.
A couple reporters questioned it afterwards. According to a statement that released today afternoon by OC Bob Sutton the new system didn't play an issue and at the NFLPA spring party it said if Bortles needs to drop back into a formation with fewer guys running out front, he can always run an outside option on play action instead in a formation split three-wide outside (2T vs 3T) using 2 receivers and QB.

For many, that is something new about Andy the rookie. That we haven't really learned him before but some are hopeful this is all a preparation tool to learn something new every time as this doesn't look bad. In fact, I know he doesn't.
