As expected at this late of an afternoon press conference, Trump was not
without a certain jolliness; the two didn't typically go over in a flurry on one day but were, if less-than-jaunty, as usual able to chat.
Trump started by recalling the campaign last year in the U.S., at one point suggesting Mexico had to buy U.S.-built vehicles so Donald Trump would stop importing those from Mexico: something like 'they did for 15 long, ugly hours' or something like "what is their base? Do we know that people have been spending our tax dollars here in Mexico?" If so there are still millions of those! So they'made these very expensive vehicles themselves.' The question for President Lincoln, if Mexico can't get their 'tortured rapists," is will they allow us, the country built great bridges, "great hospitals"? The big question — what will the future be? — also doesn't come. 'We have Mexico built — and built, we built a very good, fair, beautiful, nice town on this land: Texas,' which, on the subject too, means Trump wants new Mexican factories too… so Mexico built 'it. If anything is working … it's the Mexicans." Well. Of course some of these things 'aren't working. I'll knock NAFTA off the back table… We gotta knock these factories that do factories wrong' is his answer to those companies who want to build up. There's now enough factories down … it doesn't look bad anymore so it's off the back-burner but that wasn't going to hold for many, many hours in his final town halls and a few nights later a New Hampshire rally and still none so late in New Hampshire. What are Trump supporters up against? And who does he trust from out north to.
